As Remembrance Day approaches, we are reminded of the immense sacrifices made by our local heroes who gave their lives so that we may enjoy the freedoms we cherish today. It is our duty and honour to ensure that their legacy is remembered and celebrated with the dignity it deserves.
The Chislehurst Remembrance Day Parade and an Act of Remembrance facilitates the community coming together to pay tribute to those brave individuals. The event will include a solemn parade, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a moment of reflection to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
To make this event a success, we are reaching out to local community groups for support. Chislehurst doesn’t get any Government funding, so we kindly request your assistance in raising the necessary funds to put this event together.
The costs include:
· Traffic signage and qualified marshals
· Printing service sheets
· Bugler
· PA
· Ensuring proper safety and coordination
A £2000 donation from The Chislehurst Society, has been received, and smaller contributions from the Chislehurst Rotary Club and Visit Chislehurst have also been received, however £1500 is still required to cover all the costs.
With your help, we can create a meaningful and memorable event that truly honours our fallen heroes. Additionally, your participation and support will demonstrate the strength and unity of our community in remembering those who fought for our freedom.
If your group can hold a fund-raiser to help with the costs, please let Lollipop Events know as soon as possible. Alternatively, donations can be made directly to https://donate.stripe.com/8wMdSO4HA6Ly5lS7ss
If you can’t hold a fund raiser could you share the link with your members, friends and family.
We are also seeking volunteers to assist with various aspects of the event, so if you or members of your community group are willing to lend a hand, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for considering our request. Together, we can ensure that we honour the memory of our local heroes in a manner befitting their sacrifice. We will remember them.
Thank you
Rachelle Harte, Lollipop Events
