’40 Years in the hair industry and still loving every minute!’, says Virginia of “Hair by Virginia”, who has just relocated, less than 100 yards from the top of Park Road in Chislehurst to the other end of Park Road, and has moved into the luxurious Luxe Tanne premises. ‘I absolutely love hair dressing, everything about it’, says Virginia. ‘ I like my clients, I like the chat and banter, I love the styles, I like the following, there isn’t anything I would change. I decided to move out of my old premises as I just didn’t want to manage a property anymore. Dealing with maintenance, staffing etc. I just want to enjoy what I enjoy and that’s my clients, so I’ve decided to move into a space where I can do that, and I will have ‘Hair by Virginia’ based at Luxe Tanne.’
Virginia originally followed her sister into hairdressing, she liked the atmosphere in a salon, she knew she didn’t want an office job, so was super keen when she was offered her first Saturday job in a salon. She never looked back! 40 Years later she has built up a huge clientele that are happy to recommend her, many to try out new styles, some for a weekly wash and go, regulars for their 8 weekly cuts. The most important thing though for Virginia is customer satisfaction. ‘I honestly couldn’t sleep if I knew someone wasn’t happy with the result of their hair cut. It’s so important to me, the whole package, how a customer feels when they leave’.
Outside of work life is a little less glamorous, Virginia is usually looking a lot more windswept as her main passion in life is Barney the cockapoo. She is a complete dog mummy and Barney is walked endlessly no matter what the weather or conditions! Guaranteed he has a good shampoo and dry afterwards though!
