Visit Chislehurst caught up with Beth Gibby on her experience of signing up to New Mortgage Solutions free Wills for NHS staff offer last year.
“I’m a speech and language therapist working across schools and nurseries in Greenwich. I specialise in working with children with autism. I live with my partner Jack and my 18-month-old daughter Evie. Evie was the reason that spurred us on to put a Will in place. We wanted to make sure she would be cared for if anything happened to us.
I saw the offer of free Will for all NHS workers on Visit Chislehurst’s Facebook page so I got in touch. The process was very simple. We went into the office for an initial meeting, then Bob visited us at our home one evening to go through all the information. Then we had one more meeting in the office to sign everything.
Our main objective was making sure Evie was cared for. We discussed what we wanted to happen to her if the worst was to happen. We had to think about what would happen if one of us died or if we both did. We needed to make sure she lived with the person we chose and was financially secure and set up for life. Our focus was making sure our wishes were followed and she would be safe. I feel a sense of security now it’s done, and everything is in place.
Bob was very informative telling us about how trust funds work and giving us more information about life cover and mortgage protection. It was very simple and straightforward, and I would certainly recommend to other NHS workers. It was brilliant. I was very happy with it.”
