Chislehurst Methodist Church has been at the heart of Chislehurst since 1868 and continues to be a big part of the community life.
The motto of our church is Journeying with God. We believe that God’s love is inclusive. Therefore, we are a church which welcomes and affirms all God’s people in their rich diversity.
We are a people seeking to be nurtured in our journeying with God, through worship, spirituality and the creative arts, and at the same time to offer that vision of life to others. We seek to offer our sacred space to the community. We have transformed a private place of worship into a public sacred space.
All invited to join us for our weekly Sunday service at 10.30am and our midweek informal service 12.45pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. As well as throughout the week for our varied programme of activities for all ages.
Church activities include: junior church, messy church, Boys Brigade, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, informal mid-week service, friendly house-groups, a Monday focus group, coffee mornings, church lunches and social gatherings and all in a beautifully refurbished, warm and comfortable church!
As well as being a sacred space, here at Chislehurst Methodist Church we have a number of rooms, of varying sizes, available for hire on a regular or ad hoc basis.
We currently hire to a wide a variety of different groups and classes detail of which can be found on our website. We can accommodate children’s parties, talks, meetings and conferences. Over the coming months and years, we hope to expand the use our Worship space as a weekday meeting and conference venue suitable for local and global businesses alike.
We host a number of events annually including our very successful Christmas Tree Festival which is coming up for its 8th year. Last December we hosted trees from 40 different groups, societies and companies and welcomed over 1,000 visitors in just a week. Raising money for Bromley Y/Bromley Wellbeing along the way. This year we hope the festival will be even bigger and better!
