The Ayurvedic Approach to Healing

6 May 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 10 June 2023 @ 3:30 pm

Free – £12004034

Now more than ever we need to know how to manage our health better. Not just our physical health, but also our mental health as this is where the first signs of disease (dis ease of the body) often start.

This course, taught by the incredibly experienced Emma Brown, is a beginners guide to the Ayurvedic approach. Ayurveda, which is a sister science of yoga, empowers you with the wisdom on how to manage your health better.  It is a holistic intuitive wisdom, working predominantly with diet, lifestyle and daily/seasonal routines which guide us how to stay in balance.  It teaches us how to recognise the signs when things are going out of balance and how to restore it.

It will identify some of the common signs of imbalance which could have inherited and some that come from stresses/changes of life and the influence of our own diet and lifestyle. Whatever the reasons ayurveda can teach ways on how to restore harmony by creating balance.

Ayurveda looks at everyone as being unique with their own body/mind make up or constitution. Often when our diet and lifestyle do not suit our constitution, imbalances start to manifest. It is also when we experience challenge or change in our life that illness or imbalance can creep in. Ayurveda gives us guidance on how to manage these changes better which we will discuss in the course.

The course has been designed where the first 2 trainings look at the basic principles of ayurveda to help understand ourselves better. We will look at the best diet and lifestyle that suits us and how imbalances occur. It is essential that the first 2 sessions are taken in order to understand the following sessions. Those weeks trainings will look at specific areas of health which are crucial to our well being.

The full course will be made up of 6 sessions. Each session will take place on a Saturday from 1-3.30pm.

If you cannot make the first 2 training days these will be recorded so that you can study them before you come to the classes that follow. Each session will be in person but streamed live at the same time if you are not able to make it in person, or living further away etc. The workshop will also be recorded in case you missed it, so you can make up in your own time. In between each session there will be some exercises to help you integrate and understand the teachings better with some observation and practical exercises to complete.

Full Course – 6 sessions £150

Initial 2 sessions only – £60 (essential to be able to attend any of the follow on trainings)

Individual following sessions – £30

Saturday 18th February – Introduction to the basic principles of Ayurveda

Saturday 25th February – Ayurvedic principles of diet – a diet that suits your constitution for a healthy body and a calm mind.

It is recommend to take the whole course as the following sessions look at specific areas of health which are crucial to our overall wellbeing, but you can choose to come to specific classes if you prefer
