It’s December so we have a home full of goodies and the temptation to snack more! Instead of attacking that tub of chocolates, try these quick and easy power balls. You’ll get the chocolate hit you crave but without all the sugar. They are also great pre or post workout:
MAKES 12
105g almond butter (or any nut butter of your choice)
105g squeezy honey
25g cocoa powder
50g desiccated coconut
50g porridge oats
25g sesame seeds
5g chia seeds
(Plus extra cocoa powder, sesame seeds and desiccated coconut for coating)
- Melt the nut butter and honey together in a saucepan.
- Weigh out the rest of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
- Pour the melted honey and nut butter onto the dry mix and stir thoroughly until combined.
- Whilst warm shape the mixture into 12 balls.
- Sprinkle a little of the coconut, sesame seeds and cocoa powder into separate piles on a plate and roll the balls to coat the outside.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
